McNeilly Center for Children is a non-profit child care center providing quality, affordable child care to Nashville families. By offering this service, parents are able to attend school, work and/or job training programs, which allows them to create and sustain a better life for their families. McNeilly Center for Children has been in the Nashville community for a combined total of 109 years. To maximize the potential of the two centers, their programs and their staffs, the centers merged in January 2000.

McNeilly Center for Children was founded in 1916 when Reverend J.T. Coleman established a Presbyterian Sunday School and Mission. Soon, the mission was taking care of up to 100 children each day. It was evident that the low-income families of this neighborhood had a need for quality child care. Through the years, McNeilly Center for Children has evolved, expanded, improved and merged to meet the growing child care needs of East Nashville families.

Today, McNeilly Center for Children is one of the largest providers of child care for low-income families in Middle Tennessee. We care for approximately 600 children in eight locations throughout Nashville.

McNeilly provides a safe environment that promotes the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development of young children while responding to the needs of their families.
